Daily Deviation

Given 2014-07-03
GFT Typo - Blade Runner by ArfanR is a great example for conceptual typography. Smart layout and font editing help convey the emotional content of this hommage to a classic movie.  ( Featured by pica-ae )

This is really cool! I love the layout and designs of the letter type. The colors are also a great choice. Excellent work! :la:

Very intersting... so how did you create so different and intersting effects on each text? It defiently doesnt feel like it was made digitally... Isnt this made by hand?.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I could go on forever but to answer your first question, I basically spent a good while looking for a fitting typeface and after that I experimented with many layouts that I felt conveyed the quote nicely from my perspective. After cutting out the words I applied ink(with various amounts of pressure) and water-paints on to a some matte paper. I wanted the words to be lost but also easy to spot which is why some of them are coloured and the quote is shortened a little. In regards to your second question, yeah basically it was all handmade except the text and logo at the bottom of the page =)
